a wedding day can get messy.

We get it. The thing is, we want to document your wedding as is.

the way we work.

Our purpose is to document the day as raw as it can be. There will be less scripting but more capturing of the day’s little moments, as mundane or as exciting as it is. That is what makes your wedding, truly yours.

If you are looking for someone to photograph over-scripted moments and capture plenty of beautiful photographs with bokeh (blurred-out background), thus projecting a beautiful front for your wedding, then maybe we’re not the right fit.

The images we produce are not going to win awards probably. But if you are looking for someone to document down and story-tell (with creative input of course) the genuine, honest progression of your wedding day, however, it may turn out to be, then look no further.

the journalistic approach.

View through a window showing a room with adults and children on a yellow play mat; outside, a bride and groom in wedding attire smile, with a videographer recording them.

Weddings were never meant to be perfect. Avoid the fairy tale trap and do try to ‘embrace the messiness’ of the wedding day. Relive the moments through the photographs that we seek to capture for you.

As opposed to a more traditional approach, a journalistic approach, often referred to as ‘wedding photojournalism’, involves capturing the day as it naturally unfolds without excessive posing or interference. This style focuses on storytelling, emphasising on genuine emotions and the sense of the day.

To show authenticity through our photographs, we often photograph unscripted moments as they happen, even if it is considered ‘mundane’ or ‘doesn’t make sense’ to the casual, external observer. The photograph itself will contribute to the narrative of the day, in which it will be chronologically told to inform a complete story of the day.

In a nutshell, the photographs will often feel more personal, unique and genuine because of how rooted these moments are. And only those in the know, well, will know.

We fell in love with Eugene’s true photo-journalistic style in which the emotions of photos flow naturally. Most, if not all of his photos strike a great balance between being aesthetically pleasing and emotionally rich.

Life is not always the picture-perfect glamour party it professes to be - and we like it that way. Many things can be beautiful when we roll with the punches, as with many in-between moments - Bottled Groove captures this masterfully.

We could not have asked for any more from Eugene, who was so personable, passionate and committed to our wedding project from day one!

Everyone keeps telling us how the photos captured the spirit of the day so well, and love all the brilliant candids :’) They have carried us through post-wedding blues for sure.

The beauty of everything is in the fact that Elle felt more like a friend than a photographer.

We had the pleasure of working with Dexter as our AD photographer and 100% no regrets. Whether it was spontaneous candid photos or more ‘editorial’ photos, Dexter nailed it all.
